About

You have a message: a belief in something that you WANT for your clients. You love the work that you already do with them, but you KNOW YOU CAN HAVE A GREATER IMPACT.

You want to create community and the powerful transformation opportunities that come when a group of people engage in learning together.

As a coach or a counsellor, you’ve likely experienced some powerful group learning opportunities – whether in your core professional training or in your personal quest for your own development. You know what kind of impact is possible.

I want that for you and your clients!

Designing a workshop that will make that impact (and make you money) is hard work and it can be confusing!

  • How do you organize all your content?
  • Which content do you include?
  • What order do you put the material in?
  • What activities do you use?
  • How many people should you plan for?
  • How long should it all be?
  • How do I ensure I have the impact I intended?

So many details to make sure it doesn’t suck.

Because we’ve all been to workshops that sucked.

Unfortunately, I’ve been to too many workshops that sucked and not enough that wowed. What is heartbreaking for me is that none of the facilitators I’ve met wanted their workshops to suck – they all had messages to share and held powerful visions for the learning and transformation of their clients – they just didn’t have the same expertise in workshop design that they did in their topic – whether it was coaching, health & wellness, relationships … whatever. They were brilliant, but their workshops weren’t.

Last year I attended a 2 day ‘workshop’ that sucked.

  • We were talked at by the instructors
  • We didn’t practice anything
  • We didn’t barely interacted with the materials
  • We went around the circle and read the script out loud

While the instructors were lovely and passionate about their topic and very skilled therapists, they didn’t wow me with their workshop. And they didn’t have their intended impact: I didn’t come away feeling at all ready to do what they were ‘training’ me to do. While I admire what they’re trying to create, I’m unlikely to recommend their training, nor am I likely to go back for more.

It was a turning point for me. I knew that I couldn’t let any more workshops suck if they didn’t have to.

It was time to offer my help to coaches and counsellors ready to reach more clients with their powerful messages and missions.

There is a vision you hold for what’s possible for your clients; an impact you want to make with your workshop. I want that for you and for your clients.

I want your workshops to wow so that:

  • You will feel confident and proud of the workshops you offer
  • Your clients will have powerful, transformational, learning experiences
  • Your business will grow as people come back for more and refer their friends

I LOVE workshops. I love the potential they have for people to connect while they learn and the synergies that are created by bringing people together around a topic or experience. They are also, frankly, a really good business model for coaches and counsellors because we can only do so many one-on-one sessions in a week.

As a coach, counsellor and an instructional designer, I have been designing and facilitating workshops for over 20 years. Some of them definitely sucked, especially when I was first starting out, and it was awful.

I don’t want that for you.  I want you to benefit from all the learning I did along the way.

In addition to my coach and counsellor training, I have studied instructional design, group dynamics, adult learning, (as well as a host of other related things. I’m a learning junkie). When I put it all together it turns out that I have a unique package to offer: I can help you design your workshop, from concept to delivery so that your clients will have the experience you want for them and you will feel good about doing workshops as part of your business.

And don’t worry; I hate pushy marketing and I don’t believe it’s necessary in order to be successful … so we can talk about your messaging without your skin crawling.

In case you want some of my official credentials:

  • CPCC – Certified Professional Co-Active Coach
  • MA, HSI – Masters in Human Systems Intervention (Think adult learning meets group dynamics meets organizational development)
  • MTC – Master Therapeutic Counsellor (So I know how to design for deep process work safely and powerfully)
  • Certified in Experiential Training Design (I can design experiential activities and games from scratch)
  • MBTI Certified (so I understand different learning and communication styles and how to facilitate for them)
  • Plus an additional long list of courses in instructional design, facilitation, etc.

When I’m not coaching or helping others design their workshops, you can find me chasing my VERY active toddler, Spencer. I’m a late bloomer Mom (aka over 40) and he definitely keeps me on my toes. Motherhood has also given me new levels of focus when I work since my time is so precious.

If you’re ready to create amazing workshops that transform your clients’ lives, I’m ready to bring that focus to working with you.

Check out how to work with me or drop me a line and let’s chat about what you need.

Consultations are always free.
